Focus

Emily’s work centres on climate risk, the energy industry, and the role of financial institutions. She also supports the climate and energy initiatives in Asia, with a specific focus on Japan. 

Emily joined ClientEarth in January 2025 and is currently based in our Tokyo office.

Experience

Before joining the team, Emily has worked in private sectors, where she conducted legal research and drafted documents for climate change and human rights related projects. During her time at law school, Emily also served as a judicial extern in a court and a legal extern at a public interest organization, where she gained extensive experience in dispute resolution and civil procedures. Emily is qualified to practice law in New York.

Education

Emily earned her Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School in 2024, where she was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She was a participant in the International Dual Degree Program with University College London (UCL), where she focused on transnational legal studies and received the Parker School Recognition of Achievement in International and Comparative Law. She also holds a Bachelor of Law degree from UCL with honours.
