Senior Legal Researcher, Energy Systems, Asia
Kyoko joined the Energy Systems, Asia team in ClientEarth’s Brussels office in December 2022. She conducts legal and policy research with a special focus on Japan.
This is Kyoko’s first professional role entering the field of environmental law and policy. Prior to joining ClientEarth, she gained experience organizing civil action for climate change measures, interned in sustainable corporate consulting and researched biodiversity issues such as marine protection in the coasts of Japan. Kyoko’s time in grassroots projects targeting the public and private sector have led her to pursue a role in which she can promote the necessary transition by influencing larger frameworks of society.
Kyoko completed a Bachelors in International Legal Studies, specializing in International Environmental Law at Sophia University in Tokyo. She has a Masters in Environmental Policy from the Paris School of International Affairs.
Working at ClientEarth brings me strength as well as hope that with our legal and policy tools, we will be able to achieve systemic change to have a net zero society which is accessible for people all around the world.
